Science Fitness offers the Stott Method of Pilates, which incorporates more preparatory exercises in order to strengthen your “core” muscles, which include the deep abdominals, lower back, pelvic floor and gluteals. Stott Pilates incorporates modern exercise principles, including contemporary thinking about spinal rehabilitation and performance enhancement.

During your one-on-one session, our certified trainers will guide your body through the basic pilates principles, making sure each movement is performed correctly and that you are getting the most from each exercise. Your session is based on your body’s progress – the basics will be reinforced as new challenges are introduced. It is always fun, challenging and empowering!


An important note about choosing a pilates professional:
Pilates has become more and more popular in recent years, and with the influx of studios offering classes, it is important that you be a savvy consumer. Pilates should be done with a certified instructor who will evaluate your performance and correct it as needed.

Before beginning a program, make sure you are working with a professional who can:

  • tell you exactly what muscles they are working;
  • where it attaches relative to the joint;
  • how the shape of the joint will affect the ability to move;
  • what body position and angle of resistance will best target the muscle;
  • and most importantly, is your body ready to handle the load?

    We can answer these questions for you and design a safe and effective routine for your skill level.
